Press Release 2014

II Arts Festival, Jimena de la Frontera
13–15 June 2014

The Arts Association, Corral de la Paca, is delighted to announce that this year’s Arts Festival in Jimena de la Frontera will have the added attraction of Open Studios.  This is a free event, with a group of 11 international, professional visual artists opening their doors to the public.  It’s the first time the village has hosted Open Studios, providing a great opportunity to see the artists in their place of work and to talk to them about their methods and inspiration.  It is also a more personal way for the artists to offer their work for sale.   They will open their studios from 12.00-20.00 during the weekend 14 & 15 June 2014.  It’s a cultural event not to be missed in the setting of one of Andalusia’s picturesque white villages.
This II Arts Festival 2014 will also include a group exhibition by the Open Studios artists to be held in Corral de la Paca.  The notable journalist and Professor of Art Theory & History, Lourdes Ortíz, will inaugurate the exhibition on 13 June at 21.00.  It will be celebrated with a glass of Cava and followed by a jazz concert in Corral’s beautiful outdoor patio.  It promises to be quite a night of diverse culture.  The exhibition will be open each weekend until the end of June.
On the educational front, the II Arts Festival, has two exciting Workshops organised: Saturday 14 June from 11.00-13.00 Painting for Children, 5 euro.  Max. 10 children.
